+8980 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to CJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E1/M27.8.25. EAC. AND 20 HP. ENGINES - OIL LEAK X.8000 REAR END. X.8980 X.5980 Referring to the oil leak on the rear fitting of the high pressure oil gallery pipe which we endeavoured to cure on production by making the rear portion a better fit in the crankcase, we send herewith LeC.2128, shewing means for curing the trouble by attaching a cover. This cover makes a joint to the crankcase by means of a cork washer. We also shew a scheme for attaching a cover to the crankcase by means of 3 countersunk screws, but this necessitates an alteration to the pattern, and should not be carried out unless found necessary.
