You will appreciate that the whole of the work done was of an experimental nature, and we prefer that the cost of such work shall be kept entirely separate from production work. In this way, when submitting a quotation for production supplies, we can entirely dissociate all question of preliminary costs in connection with experimental work.

We have been very carefully into the costs, and we are satisfied that the amounts charged were actually expended on the work, and if the cost appears to be high, it is due to our desire that the work should be entirely satisfactory to your firm.

We regret to note that you are not considering the adoption of this design, as we are certain that we could satisfy your needs both in regard to quality and price.

Yours faithfully,

THE PROJECTILE & ENGINEERING CO: LTD
