H6001e. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.7/MA. 10th January, 1936. Messrs.K.L.G.Sparking Plugs, Ltd., Robinhood Engineering Works, Putney Vale, London, S.W.15. For the attention of Major C.M.Carington. Dear Sir, We thank you for your letter of the 8th instant and note your remarks regarding the integral screened plug. Mr.Alec Lodge is visiting us today regarding this matter and no doubt he will be able to report on your mutual decisions. We have already received 24 screened plugs type X465S/1 from Messrs.Lodge and these are being tested to gain experience. With regard to your proposals for Cadmium plating the Bentley plug, we do not consider Cadmium is very serviceable as a result of our own experience with Cadmium plated parts and we suggest you "Sheradise" or "Parkerise" process the bodies. Your remarks regarding the 20/25 chassis plug are noted with interest and the six plugs are being fitted to a car for trial. Yours faithfully, FORROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
