GEARBOX CONTROL TESTS SHEET II The figures given in the tables were actually taken between 50 and 55°C, 60 and 65°C, and in the previous tests 70 and 75°C, owing to the difficulty of maintaining the temperature constant due to the heat generated by the pump at these high pressures. The following table shows the rate of temperature rise obtained at a pump speed of 1500 RPM, with a delivery pressure of 300LB/□", without any externally applied heat. | TEMP °C | TIME TO REACH TEMP FROM 40°C | RATE OF TEMP RISE FROM 40°C, SECS/°C. | |---|---|---| | 40 | ZERO | ZERO | | 50 | 3M | 18 SECS/°C | | 55 | 5M 30S | 22 " | | 60 | 8M | 24 " | | 65 | 11M | 26.4 " | | 70 | 14M | 28 " | | 75 | 17M 30S | 30 " | A temperature of over 100°C was eventually obtained.
