Linnett} With reference to your Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Bwg{J. C. Bowring}14/KW. 7.12.35., it is difficult to give you any definite analysis of the various complaints comprised under the above heading. They are mostly miscellaneous complaints which point to no definite fault in design. Some of them are broken or faulty pipes, some may be merely oil leaks from the olive joints, whilst others may be defective metering valves. We really do not get many of the latter. The pipes which fail are usually those subjected to fatigue, such as the coiled pipes on the shackles. Incidentally, some of these are badly fitted, causing the pipe to wear through, due to abrasion.
