The writers general conclusions is that unless a monocoque can be made to give a degree of freedom from road noise equivalent to that of our existing models, he would prefer to have a style of normal construction such as projected on Pl.20. because it is felt that, silence, smoothness and sweetness are of greater sales value than the last 6% of performance, achieved by the monocoque construction.
