X.8050 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} RECEIVED JAN 19 1927 From Mr. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}6/M18.1.27 re Phantom Cylinders. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}6/D17.1.27. The thickened cylinder projection effected a 75% to 80% improvement on engines suffering from this particular knock which this modification was introduced to overcome, making the knock inaudible except when "listening in". I have at the moment one engine on test that is giving trouble in this respect, but this is the only case I know of, and it is now being investigated. Mr. | ||
