X3898 Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} ROY{Sir Henry Royce}4/MG17.1.27 Mr. Williams, of The Aston Chain & Hook Company,Ltd advises that he has decided not to proceed with bulk manufacture of his High Pressure Grease Gun, as he feels it is useless to attempt to market it in view of the many cheaper Grease Guns now on the Market. He has sent forward a sample as he finally completed it, which may be of service here, and I hand you same herewith. To operate it the process is as follows:- "If you want to fill it, remove the cap with the high "pressure booster, and tube attached, from the cylinder of "the Grease Gun, unlock the top part where it is marked to "engage or disengage, take the small cork out of the lid{A. J. Lidsey} of "the Grease Tin, screw the barrel of the Grease Gun on the "inner lid{A. J. Lidsey}, then hold the barrel down, and suck the Grease "in as you would water. Afterwards replace the front "Cap, revolve the Clutch to engage, and use it as an "ordinary Grease Gun, and in case of a hard bearing, take "the Cross Handle in your hand, and use the high pressure "part. "This, of course, should always be out at the full "distance ready for use." If this is no use to you in the Experimental Shop, perhaps it would be to Mx.{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} of the Transport Department, in which case please pass it on. ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} GREASE GUN to accompany this Memo. | ||
