To: EFC Order No.: PC 144 Customer's No.: X 8783 Date: Aug. 16th 1927 Customer's Faulty Dynamo CE4S Ex Chassis 97HC An investigation of this machine resulted as follows:- 1. Tested on the AC mains, the insulation of the machine was found to be faulty. This was subsequently found to be due partly to brush dust bridging the insulation of the positive and control brush holders on the carcase, but chiefly to a low resistance breakdown of the insulation of the armature winding to the core. 2. Solder had been melted and thrown from the commutator and connections, but the winding did not appear to have been overheated. 3. The commutator had been burned in places forming 'flats'. It had been partially cleaned up. 4. All brushes had the appearance of having Signed: Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
