LONDON. S.W.1.

Attention of Mr.B.Rushton.

Dear Sirs,

Some time ago, about April 1940, you supplied us with four eight-cylinder type distributors to your drg. 662.NZ2. One of these was modified so as to incorporate your vacuum unit and octane adjuster and has been running about on a car without any trouble, for some time.

We now wish to fit a similar model to a second engine, but require suitable vacuum and octane adjuster attachments. Can you supply three sets? If available, we would much appreciate an early delivery of at least one set. An official order will be sent under separate cover.

On the existing vacuum control, we had to increase the return spring pressure in order to ensure that the vacuum unit fully retarded when the car engine was reduced to idling after a full throttle period. Will you kindly advise us how much the return spring pressure can be increased without introducing detremental effects.

Yours faithfully,
for ROLLS ROYCE LIMITED,
