To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} X4159 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/LC4.10.21. SIMMS PETROL LEVEL INDICATOR. X4159 X3896 We do not consider that the Simms type of Petrol Level Indicator good enough for our cars. Also the fact of it having to be fitted vertical makes it impossible to be fitted in a place where it can be seen plainly. Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} has written to the Simms people and asked them if they make a gauge of the moving arm type - their reply is that they do not. We consider that for Goshawk 11. we should not be satisfied with the Simms Gauge but should obtain one of the moving arm type from the Picard people or some other makers.
