Customer's No. X4645 Standard Battery ignition and standard chemical leak. (Utility test) This test consisted of observing the maximum speed of the contact breaker which would allow regular sparking to occur, on the annular gap shunted by the leak. A standard coil, ballast and distributor (make ratio .5) were used with a supply of 12 volts, one of the 6 H.T. wires being connected to the annular gap for the test and the remaining 5 discharged at 5, 6.5 mm gaps in air.
