X4432 #2764 EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} B. BY20/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 23. 5. 24. WEAR ON EXHAUST VALVE GUIDES. ------------------------------ We are going ahead to try out a scheme of entirely covering in the valve tappet scheme. Personally, I do not think there will be any advantage in the slight change that you are talking about. There would, however, be considerable advantage in the proposal which we are considering at the moment. I think Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} might possibly like to try reducing valve clearance experimentally, but until he is definitely satisfied, I certainly do not propose to cut them any finer as the seized valve means stoppage on the road, and is a danger I do not propose to incurr.
