To. BY/HBB. [Struck through] BY/TBD. [Struck through] BY/RD. [Struck through] RHO. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} x7772. BY12/N.18.3.30. L.H. SS.{S. Smith} - SUBFRAMES. ------------- Both of the chassis we are building will be fitted with subframes, the first built will have the dropped subframe, the second one the straight type subframe for Close Coupled body. The wheels will be built up with rims to suit 19" x 7" tyres, and two types will be produced:- (a) For First Chassis: [Struck through] Wheels with Flat Base rims and loose flange for straight sided type of tyres, [Struck through] but American made rims. (b) For Second Chassis: [Struck through] American type wellbase wheels to take the same tyre as SS.{S. Smith} wheels, it is not [underlined] like an English wellbase rim. We have ordered two sets of each type of rim, but have only instructed for one set of each (six wheels per set) [underlined] to be built up. As the special rims could not be obtained in this Country, the Dunlop Co. have ordered them from their Associate Co. in America, and they have been despatched. We have also ordered two sets of United States Royal Cord Tyres, one set with the Silent tread, and the other with the special Non-skid tread. The Silent tread tyres will be fitted to the front, and the Non-skid to the rear. These are in accordance with Oy's. requirements, and will be here in about fourteen days time. We have also ordered by cable three sets of front and rear bumpers like those on Oy's car, again to his specification. In addition, we have ordered by cable, two complete sets of lamps to Oy's. requirements. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
