8) Dynamo Defective.
The chief trouble was due to oil from the rev. counter drive working through the dynamo ball race and getting on to the comutator. A scheme is now in production which has overcome this trouble.

9) Speedometer & Rev. Counters.
By is taking up these complaints with the makers.

10) Wilmot-Breeden Bumper. Knock from lead weights.
The fitting of the safety slings is being carried out as the cars are available.
There has been a failure of the FB.2215 reinforced type clip with 3/8" threads.
One of the chief troubles is the coming loose of the lead weights and the loss of friction between the two cross spring leaves. The D.O. have produced stronger centre bolts to lessen the danger of breaking.
There is still the trouble of the lead weights coming loose and hammering. This is causing complaints. It has been taken up with the D.O.

11) Steering Box loose on Frame.
This complaint is not general. The settling down of the steering box bracket on the frame, in cases complained of, as left the bolts on the loose side. We do not know of a recurrant complaint after these bolts have been tightened up.

12) Crankshaft & Connecting Rod Bearings.
This complaint has not been placed last on the list because it is not important, but because in England, the complaint is not prevalent.
On the Continent, the cars are run at much higher average speeds and longer distances, and bearing failure has been frequent, but not a Customer's complaint. The 10,000 miles tests has not as yet proved any bearings satisfactory. The fitting of the bronze bearings to Customers' cars has stood up to the severe work, but complaints arose from the heavy oil consumption.
The Hall's white metal bearings which have been fitted to the two Paris Trials Cars are so for showing good results. The knowledge gained from the 10,000 miles tests & Experimental tests should overcome the defects. The heavy oil consumption is definately cut out as the bearing clearances are as with white metal.
The 30 HP. which has completed 14,000 miles with the latest Halls bearings are in a perfect condition. The Paris Trials Car showed slight slackness in the housings but good bearing surfaces.
