(4) Starting Handles

Samples were inspected and a decision taken on a shorter one piece handle with ratchet engagement at a saving of approximately £1.11.0. per chassis.

(5) Fuses and Fuse Box

The new type fuses are still on test and the altered position of the fuse box has not yet been tried out. The light has been arranged under the bonnet.

(6) Phantom III Series 2 Specification

Forward to next Meeting.

(7) Bearings

This is dealt with in RmIO/R5.10.37 indicating possible recommendation for standardising Hall's metal fitted into an existing Con Rod big end. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} was requested to report what sort of a job it would be to replace the bearings on a customer's car. 12 sets of these Hall's bearings are being provided for use on all Experimental cars and three cars on the Continent including the Paris Trials. RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} was requested to report on introducing these bearings on production firstly without scrap and secondly if scrap is sanctioned.

(8) Oil Coolers

Report

The failure of these has been discussed with Marstons and a Depot sheet has been prepared and circulated. Latest developments indicate the possibility of deleting these altogether from the chassis and the tests of the Hall's metal main bearings on the Test Bed will be a deciding factor in this.

(9) Failure of Brake Operating Mechanism

This is now being deleted from the Conference Minutes. It was decided that Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} should receive a fortnightly report showing progress with changeover of these parts.
