X8785do To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from EFC. c. Mr. Brock. EFC1/TDO.2.28. DYNAMO RU.95 EX CHASSIS 58-HC. This machine is one of the early type having a control brush angle of 120°. Solder has been melted from the commutator connections for which we think overheating, as a result of the control brush position, was responsible. In addition there were found one or two minor faults but nothing that would be likely to cause melting of the solder. The insulation of the control brush holder was broken down due to carbon dust bridging it. Also the control brushes were sluggish in their holders, while an attempt at rebedding the main brushes appeared to have been made. Machine herewith. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} EFC. | ||
