Re 5/8 whittle belt for dynamo drive.

Mr Platford reports that the 5/8 whittle belt has been running on the dynamo drive of chassis 1718 for over 10,000 miles and has been very satisfactory. It gave considerably less trouble both as regards stretching and slipping when slack as compared with the present 1/2" belt.

The parts have already been ordered up for series 2300 and 2400 for a 1/2" belt and consequently this cannot be standardised until series 2500.

Messrs Nadin and Wormald also agree to the standardisation of this part.

Will you kindly advise me if you also agree.
F.P. Halington

I find it turns out Ch's [Chassis] up to No 2499 we must make the 1/2" belt Introsfactory and I wrote as follows 12
The work of driving the dynamo is very small and I suggested that the 1/2" belt be run on a fireframe until it finished stretching it would be useful for all belts to so run.
