- 7 - Propellor shaft. This is still in good condition. Universal joints seem to be wearing O.K. There is still oil thrown out of these joint covers, after cutting down the oiling of same. Side hand brake mechanism. This is quite O.K. Electrical fittings. These are still O.K. generally. The points of electrical cut-out have not become any worse since our last report. Accumulator suspension. Chattering sideways of the box has again developed. We would recommend that the bolts in tube holding box to frame be larger in diameter. Exhaust silencer. The lagging has not deteriorated since our last report. All silencer brackets are sound. Exhaust Swan neck & Snout. These are in good condition. Our previous impression re booming & exhaust snout noise is the same. Petrol tank & fittings. These are in good condition. Rear spare wheel carrier. This is in good condition. We have not experienced any trouble with spare wheel tyre coming loose. Side spare wheel bracket. This is quite O.K. General examination underneath the car. Frame ties & brackets, equalising shafts & bearings, cross members & flanges, - these all appear to be O.K. Front wings. These are cracking worse. They do not appear to be made strong enough. The O.S.F. wing bracket has broken across the two top holes where bolted to frame, the same bolts holding first cross member. G.W.HANCOCK. | ||
