To ft/JWG. C. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} C. to Morris - Glasgow. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}19/JR.{Mr James Royce}22.1.40. Referring to ft/J G.5/Idm.19.1.40. We understand from the last paragraph of HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}13/Am.20.1.40. that we must forthwith place orders for the machines we require, and if the deliveries will suit the Glasgow programme we can take over the machines they have on order in exchange for the machines we have on order, giving us the better deliveries and they taking the worst. Will S. please say whether Glasgow consider they will have any machines enumerated in this memo. which they will not require for six months. We should be glad if ft/JWG. would obtain delivery dates at present quoted for the English machines enumerated in above memo. We will get Blackstone to quote for those from America.
