Dear Sirs, In the absence of our Mr. Faulconbridge who is at the Motor Show, we are writing in connection with the faulty Speedometer removed from Bentley car No. 6.B.4. We have examined this and to our regret found that this particular Head was fitted with the wrong train of gears for correct Odometer reading when driven at 1022 R.P.M., the Bentley drive speed. We are extremely sorry that this should have happened, and we must apologise for the error which we think was brought about by the fact that the Speedometer was built in the Experimental Department at the same time as some other Head with similar gearing, and the two sets got interchanged. This has now been modified and returned to you under separate cover. At the same time we are proceeding with another set of Instruments for Bentley, comprising Rev.
