RE: CHASSIS 11-EX.

I shall bring this car up to Derby on Thursday next the 31st December and may be expected between 2 and 2.30 p.m.

The particulars of lugs which have been brazed or welded on to luggage grid are:-

Distance of centres from hinge pin of grid 2 11/16" and 11 1/2".
Width of opening in each lug 1 5/8".

They are on the outside of the grid and accommodate a 1 5/8" x 3/8" strap.

The other points to which I would like attention paid while this work and the fitting of the new brake linings is being carried out are:-

Power appears poor at speeds above 40 m.p.h.

Petrol consumption very poor.

Exhaust is noisy at low speeds and there are continuous explosions from the exhaust on the overrun.

The governor is very sluggish.

Clutch stop does not operate properly when thoroughly hot.

Servo groans badly on and off.

There is a Piston knock when the engine is really hot from one Cylinder.

The Controls rattle in the head of steering column.

These are all the points to which attention would be called on the final test of a car and therefore, one points it is only right should be made good before the car goes on its full test.

Would you therefore, arrange for as much as possible to be done towards curing them on Thursday or Friday next.

CWB.
