Requesting a test to determine the torque required to cause a water pump coupling spider to slip on a shaft.

We wish to settle whether it is practicable to fix the water pump coupling spider (Ex.27891) to the drive shaft to Ex.27888-90 by either - (a) a simple interference fit (.003 to start with) or (b) a simple interference fit and with a taper pin as at present indicated on above drawings. We hand you herewith a drive shaft built up with two couplings, one being pinned, the other not.
