V740 COPY. COPY. To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} for Mr Hives 12/12/13 Copy for J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} Copy for E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} R10/P 15.12.13. With reference to the question of the wear of crankshaft bearings, I shall be glad if when you have special time to devote to the subject you will test to find out whether we can derive any benefit from raising the pressure of the oil in the crankshaft bearings. It need not affect the extra oiling for a special arrangement could provide low pressure for the extra oil piping and high pressure oil for the crankshaft and connecting rod bearings.
