P.II 1st GEAR.
We have tried the 1st gear sliding pinion to LeC.3105 (G.800790) and find that this gear works out of mesh when under load. We therefore modified the splines to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}655. This gear has a tendency to work into mesh the thrust being taken on the rocker race as shown on LeC.3105. Will By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} therefore please instruct this pinion for production and have any pinions that have been made to G.80077 modified by shortening the splines.
