TO B.J. FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} Copy to - HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ORIGINAL 20HP. LORRAINE DIETRICH. Many thanks for your remarks regarding my notes on the Lorraine-Dietrich. I telephoned to Mr. Minchin and he has now sent his copy back. While doing so I offered to let him test the Lorraine on his next visit to Derby, so that if he wished to make any remarks about it to anyone he could do so from his own experience rather than from the experience of the RR. officials. I thought this a good way to broach the subject. PETO & RADFORD ACCUMULATORS. I also made a few remarks about their accumulator, and suggested to him the possibility of having an indicator in the form of a glass tube containing a liquid, through which the gas coming from one cell of the accumulator could bubble, and enable one to judge when the cells were fully charged. It might prove one of those crude and simple devices that would serve the purpose. R.{Sir Henry Royce} Handwritten notes: Top right: R2/M5.11.26.
