SUGGESTED MODIFICATIONS TO ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT PORTION OF PHANTOM INSTRUCTION BOOK TO MAKE IT SUITABLE FOR S.S.

Note ! These suggestions do not include the modifications necessary as a result of the use of the central oiling system.

P.7 & 47. Under contents of chapter 3, in place of "Electrically operated main switch and jaw clutch actuator" we have "Electrically operated combined main and auxiliary switch unit".

P.20. Electrical equipment. Modify specification of accumulator as follows :-
75 - 80 ampere-hour accumulator in two 6-volt units placed in rear of frame.

P.22. Under "Starting the engine" 5th line down on P.22 cut out the word "momentarily" because it is the case on the S.S. that the push button may remain in the 'on' position without starting gear noise resulting. Also push button switch is now on Instrument Board, not on dash as stated.

P.26. Under "Ignition and carburetter controls" alter sentence concerned to "The other positions of this switch, namely M & B (Magneto and Battery ignition) and M & C (Magneto ignition and charge) are mainly useful etc".

P.47. Main text of description of "Electric lighting, starting and ignition systems" first paragraph should now read:-
"The equipment comprises a dynamo, a distribution box with fuses and automatic cut-out, a switchbox and an ammeter,
