RECEIVED STAMP: 22 NOV 1930 Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}10/D21.11.30. Re: Chassis 58-GN. Referring to recent memos. relative to the springs fitted to the above car, R.{Sir Henry Royce} was here yesterday and I took the opportunity of discussing the matter with him and told him that PN.{Mr Northey} and I were just about to go out on the car with a view to forming an opinion as to the springing when used under ordinary conditions on roads around London. We were also hoping to have made some high speed tests of the springing at the same time, but unfortunately the weather prevented us. So far as the springing under ordinary conditions is concerned, we formed the opinion that there appeared to be a considerable improvement in the tendency to pitch, also, in spite of the lighter rear springs, so far as we were able to test, there was no tendency to hit the buffers. However, obviously this last point is one for higher speed tests on roughish roads. The earliest possible opportunity will be taken of making some high speed tests. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} | ||
