RE. EXHAUST FITTINGS - 'V' SERIES X. 8230
Re. the rear silencer support on the above, we have just received a memo. from R.{Sir Henry Royce} saying that a test should be made of the best sheet steel support that we can design. he rather approves of the No.1. suggestion shewn on our drawing but sends a sketch of a further development, to which we shall make a design. He further remarks that for cost and lightness sheet steel work will have to be used where-ever possible sooner or later.
We do not know how you stand as regards the drop forged bracket but we will let you have the alternative sheet metal design as soon as possible.
