X.433 7-7-13. In reply to your query "What is being done to satisfy Mr Richards" - we wish to state that previous to us receiving Mr Royce's memo, heavier springs were fitted to the above car, with of course, new bushes. This appears to have entirely overcome Mr Richards objection. It would therefore seem that unsuitable springs were partly the cause of the whole trouble and the customer wrote on May 19th :- "I am pleased to let you know how very "different my car rides since you have "changed the springs. I have several times "thought there was something decidedly "wrong and put it down to the spring setting. "The increased clearance she now has makes "a very great difference in the comfort on "a rough road, doubtless the springs were "always on the light side. My best thanks "are due to you for the trouble you have "taken to put matters right." Under these circumstances we thought the better plan was to keep Mr Royce's memo before us and only make use of same in the event of a further complaint being forthcoming. We shall be glad to know whether this meets with your wishes. p. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} [Handwritten notes on left margin: RECEIVED stamp dated 14 JUL 1913.
