RE RUDGE-WHITWORTH DETACHABLE WIRE WHEELS.

In reply to yours Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG22.7.20., Mr. John Pugh, of Rudge-Whitworth Ltd., has written us as follows:-

"I have not full information of all the tyres and "all rims used in the 500 miles Speedway Race at "Indianapolis, but we believe that in most cases the "straight-sided wired on tyres were employed with the "usual split pins at the ends and at intervals round "the rim, the split pins passing through the channel "and through the detachable flange itself. Except "for the pressure of the walls of the tyre the flange "without these split pins will centrifugal off at "something like 80 M.P.H.
