BENTLEY III.

Tin Alloy Bearings.

We are sending herewith a sample from an aluminium tin alloy bearing which has been rejected on the final operation owing to porosity.

In endeavouring to produce a set of bearings for Bentley III, eleven pairs were machined, but with the exception of four pairs all were scrap.

In view of the fact that the billets from which these bearings were produced were taken from Production stock, we feel that this matter should receive special attention.

It should be noted that similar difficulties are encountered with all bearings at the present time.
