To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} KINGSBURY.

November 11th, 1936.

PHANTOM III.

I have as requested, got hold of one of the Trials Cars - 3AZ22 - and examined the rockers and push rods.

12 of the adjusting screw spherical seatings were in a bad condition. The top spherical seatings of the push rods were also bad. The bottom contacts of the push rods were passable.

The above car is leaving for Scotland in the morning for the Show. In view of this I did not consider it would be wise to let the rockers go, as it was quite possible that noise would develop.

I have tried to get you on the 'phone twice during the day, to get new adjusting screws and push rods, but not being able to get in touch with you, I have borrowed a set off a chassis at Park Wards.

Will you please send me a set of new adjusting screws and push rods as soon as possible so that the chassis can be made good.

The position of the rockers in service is apparently going to give trouble and action should be taken quickly.

Our rockers on 35EX are in a very good condition after 700 miles in traffic.
