X1110 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth.15/KW. 13th June, 1936. Messrs. Borg & Beck Ltd., Tachbrook Road, Leamington Spa. For the attention of Mr. Barker. Dear Sirs, Regarding our conversation of yesterday, we have been thinking further of the proposal to try an experimental 13" plate with extra rivets at the ends of the crimped segments and think that the arrangement shown on N.Sch.4825 attached would be the most satisfactory scheme. This does away with the need for U-slots and gives us three times as many rivets per facing as we had originally. We should be glad if you would give this scheme your consideration, and make us such a plate if you agree that it is worth trying. We trust you will look into the question of irregularities in the thickness of the 10" and 11" facings. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
