X4577. To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to Whr.{Mr Wheeler} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/MJ.4.7.30. Ref: to Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}14/E3.7.30. SECOND LEFT-HAND CHASSIS. X7772 R's criticism of the bumper went much farther than complaining about the section of the metal. E.1/14.6.30., addressed to OY., Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}, Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, and Ey., shows a sketch of a different type of bumper. There was also a request that we should try and obtain a bumper as designed. We understand that OY. has written to U.S.A. about this. It must also be remembered that we have no spare left-hand frame. This collision test will have to be carried out on one of our two cars. R.{Sir Henry Royce} has stated that the present design of bumper he consideres would damage the frame in the event of a collision. Do you wish us to carry out the collision tests with the present bumper?, if so, we will make the test on the second left-hand chassis as soon as it is available. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
