I am in receipt of Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/MJ.4.7.30. Owing to my absence in America I had not seen El/M14.6.30 in regard to bumpers. It had been circulated to other officials and had not yet returned to me.

In view of its contents I agree that the position is different from that indicated in my former memo.

If possible I will have a word with R.{Sir Henry Royce} on the subject today, and with Oy. whom I am seeing tomorrow, and try to get something settled.
