11-B-V Car B.80 No.3 Unit.

We wish to send the above car into the fitting shop for the following work to be done.

(1) Dismantle gearbox and examine synchromesh mechanism on 2nd gear. Will not synchro when the box is hot.

(2) Fit rear engine mounting to GCD.1417. We should like the present rear mounting to remain intact so that we can change over on test.

(3) Fit Cast Iron pulleys to Water pump, crankshaft and dynamo for belt drive.

(4) Photograph present Experimental front engine mounting, then remove and fit standard mounting.

(5) Fit radiator mounting to Scheme PD.489.

(6) Check track of wheels, and if not parallel, make them so.

(7) Check pivot lean. If not set at 3/4° similar to standard B.V. practice, it should be done. At the moment the steering self-centres too quickly, and is on the heavy side. If the lean is 3/4° Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} should be informed.

(8) Fit 2 box exhaust system in place of the present 4 box system. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wym{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager} will supply the exhaust boxes. The tail pipes should be brought out together on the N/S of the car as was done on the Paulin Bentley Corniche.

(9) Fit set of B.V. undershields.

(10) Fit set of Cast Steel jack brackets.

(11) Fit a drain tap in the water system if possible.
