X662 Ha/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}4/MA. 9th May, 1934. The Earl of Rothes, The India Tyre & Rubber Co.Ltd., Mileage Dept. (Area "B"), 80, Clapham Road, LONDON, S.W.9. Dear Rothes, I am interested to note from your last letter that the India Tyre Co., are considering producing a competition tyre. We would be very glad to test this out when it is available. I wrote to Dick Summers whom you remember is a friend of mine and who had the first Bentley, asking him for his opinion on the India Tyre. Of course he is a very critical and hard driving owner and he pulled my leg about departing from Dunlops when we produced the Bentley. I attach a copy of his reply which I think is an exceedingly high testimonial for your products. I am sorry that I missed Exhibition, I am hoping to make my annual visit to Chelsea Flower Show and might see you then if circumstances permit. Yours sincerely, | ||
