SECRET
10,000 MILES TEST IN FRANCE ON
NEW PHANTOMCodename for PHANTOM I.

The car which is being prepared for this test is 8-EX. Apart from experiments in connection with the steering, this car will have fitted to it :-

1. Body mounted on subframe.
2. Modifications to gearbox, and change speed and brake mechanism.
3. Higher radiator and bonnet as adopted for 'W' series.
4. Water heated induction bend.
5. Smaller dia. aluminium induction pipe.
6. Connecting rod bearings with modified scheme for fixing whitemetal.
7. New petrol tank.
8. RR. luggage grid.
9. RR. spare wheel carrier.

We anticipate this car will be ready to leave for France in about 10 days time. If no failures occur, the 10,000 miles running in France should be completed in 20 days.
