R.R. 235A (100 T) (S.H. 159. 11-8-20) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 2800 X.3439 The Limes, Castleton, Lancs. Oct. 28th, 1920. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., D E R B Y. Dear Sirs, I am sending under separate cover a small article made in wood which I have had made for propping the clutch out each night on my car. I have found this to be safer than using a piece of wood between the clutch pedal and the nut on the steering column, this method was the cause of my chauffeur being hit in the fact by the piece of wood flying up through slipping out of position. The piece of wood I am sending goes into position quite easily on my car when put in whilst standing on the near running board with the right foot and depressing the clutch pedal with the left foot. I shall be interested to hear whether you have had a similar contrivance brought to your notice. Yours faithfully, RICHARD B. SMALLEY. | ||
