re PHANTOM II CARBURATION
-----------------------

In our acceptance tests of Phantom II chassis we have raised objections to the faulty slow running when pulling up after a hard run. After a minute or so's running the slow running became normal, which, on the Phantom II, is very good.

In testing 22-EX this does not seem to have this trouble, and on enquiry we were informed that the throttle edge on adjustable jet was of a different type, the aero engine type being fixed.

We were informed that the Experimental Department were aware of this trouble, which they suspected was due to air leaks taking place at the present fittings due to the variations of expansions of material under hot conditions, but the trouble had been overcome by the Kestrel type slider.

We shall be glad if this point can be considered for standardising, as we feel sure this point will be raised by customers sooner or later.
