H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} West, Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby. Dear Mr. West, In answer to yours of the 21st inst., I have this morning had the new Rev-Clock in my hands, and it is now a question of fitting the Clock Movement in and regulating it for at least 8 days. The reason for this being specially necessary is that this movement has to be fitted naturally with a non-magnetic hairspring, in view of the instrument being magnetic, and we must re-time the movement because of the fitting of the new hairspring. We have preserved exactly the same size of scale of dial reading, but have reduced the overall dimensions of the instrument by just over 3/8", thereby further reducing weight. I therefore hope that this instrument will be in your hands on Monday, the 4th December. Always at your service, Yours faithfully, For THE A.T. SPEEDOMETER CO. LTD. H R Buckland Director. | ||
