Test report on a Lucas ER6 magneto after a 14,000-mile run, comparing low-speed sparking performance.

Order No. WC66 Customer's No. X 8793 Lucas ERG magneto No 54A ex chassis 7EX This magneto has now been returned to the lab after running nearly 14000 miles on chassis 7EX which was used by R at Le banadel etc. We have tested the magneto as received on the bench and find it to be OK (after correct adjustment of the contact breaker point gap which was .016") and much the same as when it was placed on the chassis. A comparison of the low speed sparking results before and after the run on the car is as follows:- Before (10-3-26) 80 rpm - Advance - 105 " - Neutral - 165 " - Retard - After (20-1-28) 90 rpm 120 " 185 " Signed South This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
