HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} C to [text struck through] DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} PERIGRINE CARBURETTER. EFFECTIVE DISTRIBUTION. x4037 I learned from HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} that the distribution is largely cured by making the hot spot more effective, but they still wished the carburetter to be lowered. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} and I have looked into this and find the best thing we can do is to bring the steering shaft through the frame, which lowers the box the required amount, and since you require 4 1/2° lean on the front pivots we would raise the front horn a slight amount so as to tilt the front spring as required to be at right angles to the steering pivot. This move, with .5" shorter pendulum lever seems to achieve the object without tying ourselves in knots, in fact, it should make a cleaner looking job because the bonnet will not require to be gashed.
