Dynamo belt noises and a proposed solution using an experimental half-link belt from Whittle.

X.3735. £ As you are awarem the Test Dept. are having considerable trouble with noiese caused by the Whittle belt. For experiment, we made up a belt with half links, which are supplied by the Whittle belt people for adjusting the length of the belt. We found that the belt made up of entirely half links was a very great improvement. We suggest that you get in touch with the people who supply us with belts and ask them to send someone over here so that we candemonstrate to them the difference and also they can let us know what possibilities there are of supplying us with such belts.
