BACK AXLE CONTROL - PHANTOM. X.7350 X.8240 X.8350 X.7240

I had hoped that some time about now Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}, and possibly RG.{Mr Rowledge}, DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}, and Mr. Robotham (some or all) would take a long run in the next 10,000 miles Phantom, and the EAC.1. or EAC.7., so that they could definitely give an opinion of the relative merits of the two back axle controls.

Naturally one should prefer EAC.7. but it seems to get hung up for parts, designs or dies for drop forgings. I am not suggesting that it is anyones' fault, but only that this work must keep moving or we shall never get it.

I do not mind if EAC.7. runs in the first place with temporary parts, and is afterwards changed, because it is not a 10,000 miles test.

Before it goes into production it will finally have the lighter front axle and lighter engine, its own back axle, and possibly lighter and simpler gearbox, and clutch and flywheel.

Has Mr. Stent got his parts ready?
