AXLES.
The improved lightened front axle as arranged for either the new PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I or the improved New PhantomCodename for PHANTOM I known as EAC.VIII. has a tread of 58".
The back axle on either of these chassis, however, has never been increased beyond the 1" extra over the original dimension of 56", which means of course that on either of the above proposals the back axle will have wheels 57" tread, the front axle 58" tread.
I am stating this to prevent any confusion between West WitteringHenry Royce's home town and the Works.
