To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} To Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}4/Ell.3.35 to put you to the trouble of looking up a lot of old matter, I should be interested to know why. I also remember that there were certain features on J.III which Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} always thought wrong, one of them being the engine gears at the back end of the engine where any trouble with noisy gears would cause infinite delay and expense in manufacture. What I want to make clear is that the abandonment of J.III was on the recommendation of the Experimental Dept, and if I am not to accept their recommendations on such matters, the position becomes impossible. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} PS. for Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Only. On the question of policy, I think you will be interested to read the first half of Page 1 and the whole of Page 2 of your Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1/MJ.25.4.33 under the heading of Phantom II Continental. Your recommendation was accepted, several thousand pounds spent and you will recollect a few weeks ago recommending me to scrap the car. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} | ||
