1097 Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}5/MH.{M. Huckerby} 8TH. February, 1940. A.Taub, Esq., Messrs. Vauxhall Motors Ltd., Luton, BEDS. Dear Taub, Have you succeeded in getting rid of your wide plug gaps yet by pushing the plug further into the cylinder head ? Without the luxury of wide gaps we are finding that it takes us all our time to keep the plug behaving properly if we run it on very lean mixture. Do you know of any research work now going on in England to make spark plugs which maintain their performance. I am very interested in the performance which you can get out of your 3½-litre engine under slogging conditions. Would it be possible for you to let me have a power curve of the Bedford ? Our Bedford has done 78,000 miles but the engine is about finished. Would you consider this to be reasonable ? It has been used chiefly for main road work and no gravel hauling. Yours sincerely, | ||
