W/F (Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}). X819 BY/Cgh.{W Clough} S/G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 23.9.32. HEAT IN DRIVING COMPARTMENT. With reference to Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}9/KW. 20.9.32. the facts are that F.84034 which is reproduced from N.Sch. 3221 is a combined gas and draught shield. The scheme shows a method of preventing the hot gases passing by the change gear quadrant, also a method of preventing cold air or draughts passing by the brake quadrant into the front interior of the body. From the description you give, chassis 60-JS.{Mr Johnson's Secretary} appears to be fitted with the gas tight scheme, but it may or may not be fitted with the draught shield. In regard to 58-GW. if it is fitted up with this scheme, then it should be like 60-JS.{Mr Johnson's Secretary} BY/Cgh.{W Clough} | ||
